In case you have been in hibernation, Coronavirus has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The Australian Government has communicated restrictions for Australians that includes restricted international air travel, reducing gatherings and events to less than 500 people, social distancing and other measures to help restrict the spread of the virus. Please refer to the WHO and Australian Government advice in the links below for further up to date information.
Solar itself has issued a company wide policy.
SMS in putting in place the following policies to reduce the effects of the virus while maintaining operational capability:
Work from home where practical
Social distancing and good hygiene practices
Avoiding people and areas where coronavirus transmission risk is high
Limit domestic air travel to essential air travel only (MD approval)
Limit face to face meetings to essential only (Zoom or web based meetings can be arranged internally and externally)
We will monitor the situation with fly in / fly and travel to BGER - please request MD approval for ANY such travel.
If at any stage you are concerned about the impact of Coronavirus or think you may have symptoms please isolate yourself at home, seek medical advice and call your manager to discuss.
The effect of the virus and advice is changing rapidly so please keep yourself up to date with WHO and the Australian Government advice.
